Mount Meru Trekking - 4 Nights / 5 Days

Day one - Kilimanjaro / Arusha:

Pick up from Kilimanjaro airport then transfer to Arusha

Early evening pre-climb briefing on the trek.

Dinner and overnight at Impala Hotel (HB)

Day two - Arusha / Miriakamba:

Breakfast then drive to Arusha National Park at Momella.

Trekking through the lush forest, crossing the Ngare Nanyuki River to reach Miriakamba Hut at 8337ft / 2541m (4 to 5 hours).

Dinner and overnight at Miriakamba Hut

Day three - Saddle Hut:

Early breakfast

Continue to ascend steeply through the pleasant forest glades and giant heather to reach Saddle Hut at 11,713ft / 3570m. This trek will take about 2 to 3 hours. From here it is possible to take a side trek to reach the summit of Little Meru 12,450ft / 3794m and return to Saddle Hut in about 2 hours

Meals and overnight at Saddle Hut

Day four - Descent to the gate:

An early start to reach Rhino Point and then on to the summit at 14,981ft / 4566m to see the sun rise behind Mount Kilimanjaro, before descending to Momella gate

Met at the gate the transfer to Arusha Town

Dinner and overnight at Impala Hotel (HB)

Day five - Departure:

After breakfast transfer to Kilimanjaro airport for your onward flight
