Tarangire National Park is famous for its diversity of wildlife and is a major home for large herds of elephant, pythons, and other interesting animals, such as the Banded Mongoose. The park is primarily woodland and is mostly covered with Baobab and Acacia trees. It has a high concentration of birds, over 450 species have been recorded in the park. In addition, during the day herds of wild animals gather for a drink in the Tarangire River.
Tarangire National Park has an area of 2,600 square kilometers. The best time to visit Tarangire National Park is from June to February, although it may rain in November and there are lodges and campsites to stay in overnight, but bookings need to be made 2 to 3 months in advance.
The Baobob Tree can grow up to 25 meters tall and can live for several thousand years
